A Flexiteek duckboard for this Genesis 230

We were recently approached by the owner of a Genesis 230 whose boarding platform was starting to look tired, with the original teak well past its best. After discussing the available options and viewing examples of Flexiteek, he decided it would be the ideal solution for refreshing the boat's appearance while providing a durable, low-maintenance finish.

The owner selected the Weathered Flexiteek colour, and the installation was carried out at the Outboard Boating Club in Auckland.

To ensure the best possible result, the team first removed all existing fittings from the platform. The old teak was then carefully removed, and the surface was filled, faired, and undercoated to create a smooth, stable base for the new decking.

Once the preparation work was complete, we installed a custom-made Flexiteek panel specifically manufactured for the platform. Finally, all of the original fittings were reinstalled, completing the transformation.

The finished result gave the duckboard a fresh, modern appearance while retaining the practical benefits of synthetic teak. Most importantly, the owner was delighted with the outcome.
