A caprail varnish restoration for the motor yacht Seaspray
We were honored to be approached by the owners of Seaspray, a 24-meter motor yacht, to restore the vessel’s caprail to its original pristine condition.
To begin we carefully stripped away all existing varnish layers, revealing the raw wood beneath.
Then we meticulously sanded the entire caprail to ensure a smooth surface, ready for treatment.
To enhance the natural beauty of the wood, a premium stain was applied before commencing the varnishing process:
The restoration involved the application of 12 coats of high-quality marine varnish, each layer expertly applied to build up a durable, glossy finish that provides excellent protection against the marine environment.
“A great docking that went like clockwork thanks to the skills of Jan and her fabulous team. A team that understood our needs and easily had the skills to carry out the tasks. Also very helpful and easy to work alongside. Relaunched on time on the set date after a fairly intensive haul out. All work was done to a very high standard and the owners are very happy.”
