Caipirinha’s deck rebuild

The owners of Caipirinha came to us because they had concerns about soft spots in the timber around the anchor well and winch area.

The Brin Wilson Boatbuilders team began by assessing the foredeck to understand the extent of the problem.

It was decided that the deck over the saloon needed to be removed to allow a thorough inspection. Once the winch and deck were removed, there was good news underneath: the timber frames were found to be in sound condition.

The area was painted and a new plywood deck was laid over the existing frames. The deck was then reglassed and painted to provide a strong, well-protected finish.

To complete the job, the winch was resealed and refitted, along with the chain and anchor, leaving the foredeck secure and ready to get back on the water.

The result? More great boating adventures for Paul and friends.
